Why, given the state of our public finances, are we grant aiding the installation of energy efficient technologies which have paybacks sometimes longer than the life of the equipment itself?

This presentation will give the facts on the real payback for green technologies such as solar panels, heat pumps, biomass boilers and district heating.  The presentation will be of interest to those in the industrial, commercial and state sectors with responsibility for investments in this area. It will also be of interest to house owners.

About the speaker

Desmond Murphy is a chartered engineer who has worked in the energy efficiency area for over 30 years providing advice and project management services to all sectors including public bodies.  He has in depth experience in all areas of energy efficiency here in Ireland and abroad.  Des serves on the committee of the Energy environment division of Engineers Ireland.
