About the event

Computing plays an increasing role in our world as more and more decisions are digitised, devices become smarter and we embrace cloud services across industry.

One of the leading lights in this transformation is IBM, a company with a strong track record in Ireland.  IBM globally are driving a major strategy around building a smarter planet and the Computing division invites members to hear from the IBM Ireland experts driving this change.  IBM Ireland employs over 4,000 with the majority focused on major computing research and development projects, one of Ireland’s great success stories.

Starting at 14.00 on Wednesday 10th October, the IBM Innovation team will outline their vision for a smarter planet with tangible examples of the emerging technology they are developing right here in Ireland. The topics covered will include the vision for a smart city, eXaScale computing, cloud and the exciting work of the local Irish software development team.
