About the event

A Civil division presentation co-hosted with the Geotechnical society, the Project Management society, the Young Engineers society and the Association of of Consulting Engineers of Ireland.

While the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) has been widely associated with co-ordination of building services within industrial developments, its applications are also being expanded to include the management and modelling of information in more traditional civil engineering projects. This presentation on the recent history and future of BIM aims to provide an introduction to the development and implementation of BIM in building and civil engineering projects over the past ten years.

About the speakers

James Duggan Chartered Engineer - Associate Director with
Arup
James has extensive experience in the design and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. James has 10 years’ experience in BIM and is the Arup Ireland BIM champion and Structural Lead on the Arup European BIM Task Force.


Zita Langenbach Chartered Engineer - Associate Director with Arup
Zita is highly experienced in the design and project management of large design and build and PPP schemes and is currently the Project Manager with responsibility for the delivery of TII publication documents on behalf of the TII. This involves managing a team of Project Managers both within Arup and in Transport Infrastructure Ireland to deliver high quality standard and research deliverables. She is also currently tasked with developing a high level approach to BIM / digital engineering in highway projects on Arup projects.
