This lecture is part of the 2012-2013 series that the Chemical and process engineering division of Engineers Ireland are running on topics of interest to professionals working in the chemical, process and pharmaceutical industries.

In his presentation Pat Connelly of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) will discuss the investigation into the explosion which occurred at the Corden Pharma Ltd pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Little Island, Co Cork on April 28th 2008.  The explosion resulted in one employee being fatality injured and another sustaining serious injuries.  Following four years of investigation and court proceedings, this presentation by the HSA on the findings of the investigation will be of interest to many engineers and people working in the chemical, process and pharmaceutical industries.
