Overview

This 2 day Navisworks training course is designed to teach students the best approaches to combine 3D geometry from cross disciplines into one scene to enable effective model reviews, mark up and presentation plus the use of Navisworks for clash detection, timelining and quantification.

Learning objectives

The primary objective of this course is to teach students the concepts of combining BIM models from multiple sources and presentation and analysis of this data to clients.
 
After completing this course, students will be able to: 
 
  • Navigation and walk through simulations for client, in house reviews, and project coordination meetings. 
  • Set up and manage Navisworks NWD, NWF and NWC files for effective coordination with all project stakeholders. 
  • Produce stills and animations for quick presentations and effective project/client communications. 
  • Produce an animated timeline of a project though combination of e.g. MS Project with Navisworks  
  • Understand how to carry out, and produce reports on, soft and hard clashes in Navisworks 
  • Use the Quantification reporting in Navisworks

Who should attend

This courseware is designed for new Navisworks users who need to become familiar with the main tools within Navisworks, typically for the purpose of working with other stakeholders on a BIM project. 

Prerequisites

No previous CAD experience is necessary. Students should have a working knowledge of Architectural design, drafting, or engineering principles and of Microsoft® Windows® Vista, XP, 7 or 8. Familiarity with 3D design and/or task-scheduling software will be helpful

Confirmation is subject to event fee being finalised. Cancellation fees calculated at 50% of the estimated total bill will be charge for confirmed bookings cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the date of the planned event. A replacement person can attend instead. Cancellations made the day prior to an event will be charged 75% of the total estimated bill. No-shows will be charged the full fee. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing, fax or email.
