Course aim

To equip delegates with the skills necessary to successfully understand claims in general and the particular claims obligations and duties incorporated in the Standard Form Contracts.

Overview

Making the Contract Work - Making and Evaluating Claims is a one day course which examines the key issue of contractual claims.  In light of the current economic difficulties, it is increasingly important for clients to ensure that the correct amounts are paid to contractors under the contract and for contractors to ensure they achieve a full and proper recovery.

Trainer's profile

James Golden, BEng, LLB, CEng, FICE, MCIArb, FINFPSCES, MRICS. James is a Barrister, Chartered Engineer and Surveyor. He is widely experienced in all aspects of construction claims and dispute resolution. Always commercially minded, he has a reputation of grasping the key issues quickly and thoroughly with the ability to explain them to decision makers and clients alike. James' experience includes advocating for clients and acting as an expert witness. He acts as Contract Administrator and/or project manager and also acts as an examiner of the institution of civil engineers.
