Seminar Overview

This seminar brings together some of the leading international practitioners of bus transit infrastructure design, as well as the key players in the planning and management of public transport services in Ireland. The purpose of the seminar is to explore how various aspects of international practice might be implemented in the Irish marketplace to improve the style and quality of service offered by our bus operators. The seminar covers infrastructure provision, operations management, vehicle design and Intelligent Transport Systems and includes a number of presentations on successful implementations abroad.

The seminar will also explore more radical solutions such as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). It will look at its implementation in similar size cities abroad and will discuss its possible roll-out in Dublin, Belfast and Cork.
