Engineers Ireland, with official EPA approval, has established a register of professionally competent persons (Chartered Engineers), who have demonstrable experience and expertise to conduct technical, risk-based assessment certification of historic landfill sites and contaminated lands sites.
The Engineers Ireland Landfill Register is available to all public contracting authorities (e.g., local authorities, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS), Office of Public Works (OPW), etc.)
Engineers Ireland has entered Chartered Engineers with suitable qualifications, relevant project experience and sufficient professional development on the Engineers Ireland Register of Professionally Competent Persons to carry out Landfill Assessments at historical landfill or contaminated sites (the ‘Landfill Register’).
This ‘Landfill Register’ will be refreshed regularly to allow new professionally competent persons to join progressively. Those admitted to the register will be issued with notification formally stating that Engineers Ireland has certified their competence to assure any public or statutory bodies as to the professional and technical competence of the registered person. A panel of senior assessors (chaired by Engineers Ireland former President, Anne Butler, Chartered Engineer, FIEI) is in place to consider all applications for admittance to the register.
If you are interested in applying to be admitted to the ‘Landfill Register’ please read carefully, complete and return the application form to firstname.lastname@example.org ensuring the words ‘Landfill Register’ are in the email title.
Applications will be considered periodically, subject to demand.
