The Land Development Agency (LDA), formed in September 2018, is being established as a commercial state agency, with a nationwide mandate, to use state land to contribute towards the stability and sustainability of Ireland’s housing markets.

Its objectives are to:

  • Foster sustainable stability in the Irish housing market;
  • Coordinate appropriate State lands for regeneration and development, opening up key sites for housing delivery;
  • Driving strategic land assembly, working with both public and private sector land owners; and
  • Contributing towards the delivery of affordable housing.

The LDA will be underpinned by grounding legislation, and is overseen by an independent board of directors. The Government has committed to providing the LDA with equity capital of up to €1.25 billion.


This exciting and critically important initiative by the Irish Government requires high calibre people to drive its impact. As the Assistant Project Manager, you will work on a variety of property related projects. Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be a key contributor to the effective delivery of project work streams from early concept stage through procurement, design and construction to completion and handover.

Role Purpose/Duties:

  • You will join a growing team of development professionals, reporting to the Development Manager and work on a wide variety of property related projects
  • Assist the development managers on projects from early concept stage through procurement, design and construction to completion and handover
  • Assist in the analysis and recommendation of optimum delivery mechanism
  • Interaction with project stakeholders such as local authorities, private developers and landowners  
  • Assist with the effective delivery of project work streams and delivery of projects
  • Interface with financial and legal professionals to further develop commercial, financial and contractual skills.

Person Specifications/Requirements:

  • c. 2-5 years’ experience in the various stages of the property development sector
  • Hold a recognised degree level qualification in construction/ development sector
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Strong development and/or project management skills
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Irish planning, development and construction sector
  • Knowledge of public procurement a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of project viability an advantage.
