Details

An excellent opportunity for a Civil / Project Engineer to support the design team in the completion of both commercial and domestic building projects. The work load will include preparing and managing sub-contractors, surveys and inspections of building projects from inception through to completion, GPS surveys, setting out, project estimating, obtaining and analysing tenders, budget control, preparing specifications and producing detailed drawings on Auto-CAD.

The suitable candidate must have experience and knowledge on the approved Building Standards and Regulations, in both the application and compliance review checks on building projects. The suitable candidate must have experience and knowledge on current Health and Safety legislation on construction sites as well as supervising and managing sub-contractor related safety documentation. The suitable candidate will be mainly based in our office in Mayo, however the role will involve various travelling to the construction sites attending site meetings and inspections as well as regular overnight stays depending on the job location.

Key Responsibilities:  The candidate must:

•Have a full clean Irish driving license.

•Have relevant work experience, with a minimum of 3 years, in the completion of domestic dwellings and housing developments.

•Have good experience and knowledge of the Building Regulations and associated Building and Construction Standards.

•Excellent IT and communication skills.

•Experience and knowledge in surveying and setting out.

•Experience and knowledge in the use of Auto-CAD.

•Experience and knowledge in managing Health and Safety from design through to completion on construction sites as well as supervising and managing sub-contractor related safety documentation.

•Ability to self-motivate, learn on the job and willingly take ownership of issues and resolve.

•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations.

•Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered.
