Recruitment Advert – Regional Operations Director (ROI) Lagan Operations & Maintenance (part of the Lagan Construction Group) is now recruiting for a Regional Operations Director Company:
Lagan Operations & Maintenance Job Type: Full-time. Permanent Location: ROI Regionally (Office bases Dublin, Limerick & Cork).

The Lagan Operations & Maintenance business was formed to provide operations and maintenance services initially to Public Private Partnership Projects and has since expanded its business to include maintenance of roads, highways, buildings, small scale civil engineering works; and specialist works such as steel & aluminium VRS systems, Extruded Concrete VRS and drainage, Electrical works, and material supply and laying such as CGBM.

Role Overview:
We are looking for an ambitious leader to take ownership of the Lagan O&M portfolio in the Republic of Ireland, Maintaining Company standards, whilst respecting and reflecting the abilities and aspirations of the project teams. Acting as the ‘face of Lagan O&M’ to the client, both in the tender and delivery process.
Principle Accountabilities:

Ensure that the Lagan O&M clients fully understands the skills that they are procuring by taking a lead role in the delivery of existing projects & Work Winning effort that will secure the contracts.

Proactively managing any potential or actual risks to the project delivery to ensure that it achieves its targets around time, quality, safety, customer service and commercial value.

In line with Lagan Construction Group’s Values, ensure that the reputation of the Business is enhanced with the local community, delivery partners and, most of all, the client.

To have overall responsibility to ensure that everyone on Lagan O&M sites & depots, including his/her team, are working in accord with Lagan O&M Health & Safety strategy.
What you'll do:
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive

Lead the Lagan O&M Delivery & Production Teams to achieve the maintenance requirements or agreed build programmes on existing ROI portfolio.

Ensure rigorous Health & Safety plans are fully developed and in place for all operations prior to any start, for the entire project or contract duration through to completion, across the ROI Region.

Ensure that the Lagan O&M Health and Safety Procedure is complied with at all times and that any policy revisions are communicated to site management so their work practices are amended accordingly.

Embed and drive a customer focused culture by driving sustainable improvements and sharing best practises as a consequence of customer feedback and insight.

Drive a continuous improvement culture which improves the customer experience and responds to consumer trends locally.

Carry out technical feasibility review of potential projects across ROI Region.

Attend pre-planning, pre-tender and pre start meetings as necessary to ensure all necessary maintenance, operational or construction issues are addressed prior to commencement on a project, contract or site.

Monitor and drive progress of all Lagan O&M sites and liaise with other department heads to resolve any delays or issues identified.

Ensure that a culture exists within the delivery teams that guarantees the required quality is achieved.

Undertake regular visits to sites to review progress of projects.

Ensure full commercial management structures are in place and being fully operated and complied with.

Oversee Work Winning process, including tender/PQQ selection, suitability, submission, commercial review, risk management, pricing, and submission in accordance with the Delegated Levels of Authority.

Conduct Business development to ensure work load is maintained and increased in a well-managed way and in accordance with the business unit business plans.

Ensure commercial security of projects including full management of commercial and financial risks, from tender stage, through the project and on final accounts.

Oversee full financial reporting.

Review sub contract and supplier performance, reporting continual problems and defects to the technical department.

Uphold Lagan Construction Group values within subcontractors through policies & procedures, establishment of corporate culture, and through personal leadership.

Interface and at times negotiate with Client, Joint Ventures, and/or other parties – representing Lagan O&M, always mindful of the difference in these two roles.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring As a Regional Operations Director, your main skills and experience will include: Essential:
-
A degree in Civil Engineering related subject.
-
10 + years Contracts Manager or Operational Director experience on Civil Engineering and or Highways Maintenance projects.
-
Experience in Concrete works including Concrete testing.
-
Experience in Surfacing highway projects.
-
Vast Experience of the Civil Engineering industry in ROI.
-
Sound and knowledgeable commercial and financial understanding.
-
The ability to safely manager, develop and motivate a team including proactive management of poor performance.
-
The ability to demonstrate skill and knowledge of managing costs and maximising value of contracts through efficiencies, effective resource planning and working closely with support teams.The ability to lead and motivate your team.
Desirable:
-
Previous experience as an Operations Director in Civil Engineering business.
-
Experience in Civil Engineering, Road Maintenance, Surfacing works projects.
-
Civil Engineering Business Development experience in ROI region.
