Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 25,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, and the public service. Today’s engineers work with a wide range of technologies, operate in global teams and are valued as innovators, technical experts and as business leaders. We support our members by ensuring that they are equipped to benefit from all the opportunities that a career in engineering brings, through a programme of ongoing accredited professional development and certification. We build long term relationships with our members, supporting their career development at all stages from students and recent graduates to senior engineers and CEOs.

The Membership Growth Executive will be engaging with established engineering companies and also building new relationships in growth sectors. They will have a strong customer focus and be a good networker and influencer, with great interpersonal skills. They will be able to work across various business functions and levels in target organisations to grow new membership and advise stakeholders how to best realise the value of their Engineers Ireland membership. The role involves significant travel in Ireland to client companies and a wide range of presentations to potential members and stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own and build key company relationships. Create and deliver compelling presentations on the benefits of membership to potential members and stakeholders at company sites, leading to the acquisition of new members;
  • Through active and effective pipeline management from lead generation to qualification and sales execution, ensure growth targets are achieved on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify and develop new company relationships designed to deliver new members in growth sectors;
  • Maintain and expand the database of prospects;
  • Build and manage relationships with key member companies, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction, delivering an increase in membership;
  • Work with Marketing to build high impact campaigns to deliver growth in new and emerging sectors;
  • Work and collaborate with a perse group of internal teams to contribute to product and proposition development to meet customer needs and drive sales growth;
  • Represent Engineers Ireland at industry and or other networking events.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven track record of achieving growth targets with highly professional business development and customer service skills in a dynamic environment;
  • Comfortable influencing at all organisational levels, from the C-level executives to senior engineering teams and new graduate engineers;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience building strong, collaborative internal and external relationships;
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, problem solver with the ability to prioritise and manage work load efficiently both in the office and remotely;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills;
  • Ability to confidently discuss and advise on all aspects of Engineers Ireland’s Membership offerings;
  • Flexible with regard to working hours.

Engineers Ireland supports and promotes flexible working. While our headquarters are in Dublin, the successful candidate would have the option of working remotely from a regional location, provided that they travel regularly to Dublin to meet member organisations, and attend CPD, networking events and meetings.

The successful candidate will require a full clean driving licence and their own transport. A remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered.
