ON Semiconductor Ireland has become the 125th organisation to be awarded the prestigious CPD Accredited Employer standard from Engineers Ireland. The award follows an audit of the company’s lifelong learning practices for their engineering professionals.

Commenting on the achievement, John Power, Chartered Engineer and Director General of Engineers Ireland, said: "The CPD Accredited Employer standard recognises organisations which implement specific continuing professional development policies to support their engineers and technical staff. Professional development has become the keystone for companies to stay ahead of their competitors and at the forefront of their customers’ minds”

The Limerick based company is the R&D office of ON Semiconductor. The Limerick firm opened in 2008 following the acquisition of the CPU Voltage and PC Thermal monitoring business from Analog Devices. The R&D centre focuses in digital power management and thermal management for next generation processors in servers, gaming consoles, desktop and laptop computers. The Irish office currently employs 30 engineers.
