Engineers Ireland Awards CPD Accredited Employer Standard to Irish Water

Irish Water has been awarded the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Accredited Employer standard by Engineers Ireland.

Irish Water’s CPD strategy recognises that employee professional development is a vital tool in achieving commercial and technical objectives. The CPD strategy adopted by Irish Water highlights the importance of reflective learning and the ways in which learning and development enables staff to deliver organisational objectives.

Commenting on the award, John Power, chartered engineer and director general of Engineers Ireland said: “I wish to congratulate Irish Water on achieving this certification. The CPD team successfully scored on all criteria including planning, mentoring, knowledge sharing and supporting creativity and innovation throughout all levels of the organisation.

“A business of this size, reach and range will benefit significantly from the strategic approach facilitated by the CPD Accredited Employer Standard.”

Clodagh Gray, learning and development specialist in Irish Water recognised the value and contribution of employees to the organisation in what can often be challenging environments. “We have a difficult task ahead of us and we are committed to investing in our employees. We will ensure they are equipped with the knowledge, support and understanding to reach full potential of their role in Irish Water.
