Training aim
Through the use of relevant data examples, the interactive course aims to enable attendees to become confident and proficient in the practical use of Minitab in the workplace.
Learning objectives
At the end of the course attendees will:
- Be able to use Minitab as an everyday tool in support of data analysis;
- Understand the importance of validating measurement systems;
- Understand short run variable control chart techniques;
- Understand how to assess process capability
- Understand how to assess the statistical influence one input variable may have on an output variable, and
- Understand when and where each Minitab statistical tool is best applied.
Course outline
Structure: Two interactive workshops, run on consecutive days
Timing: 08:30 - 16:30 daily, Maximum workshop size: 8 people
Day 1 of 2: Data collection, measurement systems analysis, graphing techniques, descriptive statistics
Day 2 of 2: Control charts, process capability analysis, regression and correlation
If required, Cordatus will supply laptops with Minitab pre-loaded.

Pat has over 16 years’ experience in lean, six sigma, project and change management. He has international experience in mentoring manufacturing projects and business process improvement, with a strong focus on financial return. Pat has trained hundreds of personnel in data analysis using Minitab.
Course duration
2 consecutive days, 8 hours per day
Assessment & certification
Assessment occurs in workshop as participants make use of the tools to analyse demo data, or preferably, their own process data.
Who should attend
The course is designed for those with a good working knowledge of statistics, and who
use statistical methods on a regular basis in the workplace. Prior knoledge of Minitab not necessary.
